Giant Lemon Cornflower

This noble plant has been cultivated in western gardens for at least 200 years and was a feature of Thomas Jefferson’s garden at Monticello. It will produce strong stems some 150cm tall carrying 10cm wide lemon-yellow flower heads. This Caucasian endemic is from subalpine meadows is best grown in full sun in soil that doesn’t parch during dry periods. Height 150cm, width 100cm.
