Geranium cinereum ‘Rothbury Gem’
‘Rothbury Gem’ is a beautiful variety of a species which grows wild in the Pyrenees mountains. It makes a low mound of delicately-cut, grey-green leaves over which a spring, summer and autumn-succession of pink flowers is produced, with darker eyes and a deep magenta centre. Best grown in a sunny spot and given a little extra irrigation during dry periods, it will grow 20cm high with a 30cm spread. It also makes a charming pot plant. It has been given an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society – only given to plants considered by experts to be outstanding.
