Graceful and refined, Delphinium ‘Lilac Ladies’ produces elegant spires of pure lilac flowers, each highlighted by a crisp white bee. Bred as part of the celebrated New Millennium breeding programme in New Zealand, it is prized for its remarkably consistent colouring. An early and vigorous grower, it is amongst the first to flower each season and is outstanding for both the garden and the vase. The gentle lilac tones blend effortlessly with a wide range of colours, making them invaluable in mixed borders and floral arrangements alike. Their elegant flower spikes rise to 1–1.5 metres and make exceptional cut flowers, lasting beautifully in the home.
Flowering from November through to the end of April, they reward good cultivation with an exceptionally long season of colour. Remove spent flower spikes as they fade to encourage repeat flowering. At Lambley, we cut our plants back to the ground after the first magnificent flush in early January and, within just a few weeks, they produce another beautiful display of blooms.
Grow in full sun or light afternoon shade in fertile, well-drained soil with regular summer irrigation. Given good garden conditions, this outstanding perennial will provide years of spectacular displays.
