Salvia nemorosa ssp. pseudosylvestris

Found in wild places from Eastern Europe through Central Asia and into northeastern Afghanistan this rare Salvia is one of the most beautiful of all the meadow sages. It produces spikes of rich violet flowers set in large lilac bracts from late spring until late autumn. It does best when grown in full sun but will also perform well enough in light shade. In flower it will make a plant some 70cm tall by x 60cm.
