Linum narbonense is a terrific garden plant flowering from early November to early summer. A native of southern Europe from Portugal to the Balkans, this is one of the most beautiful of all low, blue-flowered perennials. The large, pale azure flowers, some 2.5 cm across, are freely produced on 30cm tall stems, clothed in fine glaucous leaves. Quite drought tolerant when once established it is best grown in a sunny well drained spot. David Glenn first saw it growing 50 years ago in his father’s East Midlands garden. 30cm x 70cm.
