Aurinia saxatilis “….needs no description standing high amongst the twelve most popular and cherished splendours of the rock garden in spring, when its hoary grey, lax-leaved foot-high bushes are smothered in their loose, wide hillocks of gold.” Reginald Farrer- The English Rock Garden. In this, the ‘Sulphureum’ variety, the hillocks are a creamy lemon. Happy in any sunny well-drained position and needing very little extra irrigation when once established.
