Lamiaceae
Lepechinia salviae
Chilean Pitcher Sage
This is one of the finest plants in our dry garden where it makes strong upright shrubby growth well covered by large grey arrow shaped leaves. From mid-summer until quite late in the autumn, the plant is topped by large spikes of dark purple-pink flowers. The Chilean Pitcher Sage is much visited by our resident New Holland Honey Eaters who relish this plant as much as we do. It should be cut to the ground during winter. Happiest in full sun but will enjoy light too. 150cm x 100cm. Whilst tolerant of dry conditions it will do equally well in well-irrigated spots.
This plant is not in our current range and is provided here for customer information only.
