Aethionema schistosum
Not from Persia at all but from dry stony hillsides in the Taurus and Antitaurus mountains of Turkey. Growing some 30cm tall when in flower and 30cm wide it makes a wondeful tough plant for the front of the border or rock garden. The fragrant pink flowers totally cover the plant during its spring blooming season. Best grown in well drained soil in a sunny spot.
