This variety has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit. “A very fiery red selection” which will add some vim to the summer and autumn garden. It’s pollinated by hummingbirds in the wild, and is one of the main foods of the Black-throated and the Rufous hummingbirds during their migration from their summer breeding grounds in Canada, to their winter home in southern California and Mexico. This plant needs a sunny well-drained spot and copes with drought. Height 3-40cm width 50-60cm.
