Veronica longifolia ‘Ronica Blue’
A terrific variety with long, narrow, bottlebrush-like heads of rich blue flowers, carried on sturdy 30cm stems above the foliage. The upright flower spikes bring a lovely vertical accent to the front of the border or rock garden, rising neatly amongst lower-growing perennials and grasses. Cut back the spent stems after flowering and it will often reward you with a further flush of flowers.
Growing to around 60cm tall by 30cm wide, ‘Ronica Blue’ is a tough, frost-hardy perennial that is easy to grow in full sun and good garden soil. Give it an occasional deep watering during prolonged dry weather. A particularly useful plant for adding cool, clear colour and strong vertical form to a sunny perennial planting.
