Tanacetum densum ssp. amanum
This beautiful, evergreen, silver-leafed ground cover grows wild on hot, dry, rocky mountain slopes in Turkey. The leaves are intensely silver and like Prince of Wales Feathers. It can be grown as a stand-alone plant at the front of the border, or as a weed suppressing carpeting plant. Happiest when planted in a sunny spot it is drought tolerant when once established and each plant will eventually make 25cm tall by 35cm wide. For the three decades it has been grown in the Lambley gardens it has never produced its yellow flowers.
