Senecio candicans
A native of the South American states of Chile and Argentina where it can be found from sea level to high in the Andes mountains, from moist temperate valleys to more arid mountainous areas. S. candicans has extraordinary, near-white, fleshy foliage. It will grow up to 90cm tall and 60cm wide. Contrasting yellow flowers are displayed during late summer and autumn. These flowers are regularly visited by bees and butterflies. Senecia candicans is best grown in full sun or partial shade and given a little extra irrigation during dry periods. If growing in a pot don’t let the soil get too wet. Frost hardy down to -12C.
