Salvia ‘Berggarten’, which rarely flowers, is one of the finest of all silver-grey foliage plants rarely, if ever, having a down season. It makes an evergreen shrub some 60cm tall by a little more wide. Best grown in a sunny well drained spot it is drought tolerant when once established. ‘Berggarten’ is the recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society. This award is only given to the very best garden plants. As ‘Berggarten’ is a selection of the culinary sage it has a dual purpose role in the garden. One can admire its beauty and also cook with it.
