Whilst happiest in full sun it will cope with a little shade. Although it grows wild in quite dry areas of western USA in cultivation it is better for an occasional watering during dry periods. In the Lambley garden it lines both sides of the central axis of our flower garden where it gives joy to both the gardeners and to visitors. 80cm tall by 100cm across.
