Radicchio for autumn and winter harvest. Very uniform dense heads. The bright purple color and flavor are enhanced in the cooler weather. High bolt tolerance.
 
When to sow: Early autumn
Where to sow: Seed trays
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 30cm Between rows: 30cm
 
Directions: As the seed is fine I plant a dozen or so seeds in a seed tray every three or four weeks. I space the seed out in the tray giving each a space of 1cm square and transplant the seedlings into their final position four or five weeks later.
