Lady of the Snow, Spring Pasque Flower.

Not the easiest of the Pasque flowers to grow, but most certainly the most beautiful and worth every effort, this native of European Alpine areas produces its large, exquisite flowers very early in the season. Evergreen it is best grown in full sun in a well drained moist spot in the rock garden or better still in a terra-cotta pot with well drained potting mix. The hairy, flowers bell-shaped flowers, nodding in bud later up facing, are pale mauve on the outside and pure white internally. The flat, dark green, much dissected foliage makes 10cm across clumps.
