The plant we have growing at Lambley is about 150 years old. It hasn’t been watered once in the 30 years we’ve been here but every summer and autumn it is covered in large exotic pink trumpets. Glossy green, fernlike foliage is an added virtue. Fast growing, the pink trumpet vine will soon cover an unsightly fence or water tank. If it is cut back to near ground level each year it can be grown in a tighter space. Tough, sun loving and drought tolerant. 2-3 metres tall by as much across although judicious pruning will keep it smaller.
