Native to the mountains of western Colorado in the USA, P. mensarum ‘is an evergreen perennial boasting showy spires of brilliant cobalt blue flowers, a shade of blue rarely seen in gardens. Blooming for several weeks in late spring and early summer, they rise on upright stems well above a compact basal rosette.”  Best grown in full sun in well drained soil, it is drought tolerant when once established but a little extra irrigation during dry periods will be beneficial. Height in flower 40-50cm width 30-45cm.
