Penstemon ‘Chester Scarlet’
‘Chester Scarlet’ with its brilliant scarlet-crimson flowers is one of the showiest of all Penstemon proudly showing its flowers from mid-spring until winter. Its leaves, clothing 80cm tall strong stems, are glossy bright green make a lovely foil for the flowers. Height in flower 90cm with a 60cm plus width. Best grown in full sun and given a little extra watering during dry periods. This old variety is a much better performer than the modern dwarf forms, which now litter garden centres.
