Origanum ‘Dingle Fairy’
A charming little ornamental oregano, forming a low, spreading plant of aromatic, bright green leaves. In summer, its slender stems carry unusual soft pink flowers surrounded by papery bracts that range from pale green to mauve. The flowers and colourful bracts are held above the foliage in loose, airy sprays, giving the plant a delicate and graceful character.
Growing to around 20–30cm tall and just as wide, it is lovely spilling over the edge of a pot or retaining wall, tucked among rocks and gravel, or used along the front of a sunny border. A tough and easy-care perennial, it thrives in full sun and well drained soil and is drought tolerant once established. The flowers are also attractive to pollinating insects.
