Mandevilla laxa
Unlike all other Mandevillas, this one tolerates frost. I’ve grown this vigorous climber on an old shearing shed here at Lambley for 30 years. Each summer and autumn a succession of giant jasmine-like flowers with a delicious fragrance somewhere between a gardenia and a tuberose are produced. Our plant has clambered up 3 metres and has a spread of about 1.5 metres. Sun or light shade.
