Leucanthemum x superbum ‘Sonnenschein’

Sunshine Shasta Daisy

The very large daisies, opening soft creamy lemon and ageing to white, are produced for many months on strong 50cm tall stems arising from clumps of dark green leaves. Easily grown and tough Shasta daisies can often be found still growing around settlements which were abandoned decades ago. Happy in full sun or light shade. 50-60cm tall by 50cm wide.

Shasta daisies were first raised by the American plant breeder, Luther Burbank, in the late 19th century. McDonald’s French fries are mostly made from the russet Burbank potato which was an early product of Burbank’s brilliant prodigious breeding efforts.
