This lovely groundcover will lighten any dark corner of the garden with its gold and dark green leaves painted with wisps of silver. Purple flowers are produced on short stems. It gets its common name from its foliage being similar to the stinging nettle Urtica dioica. However Lamium and Utica are not even closely related. The Lamium doesn’t sting. ’Ánne Greenaway’ will make a 5cm tall by 40cm wide carpet with its flower stems held 15cm above.
