Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei ‘Sioux’
This is perhaps the best of its kind for autumn colour, turning rich shades of orange and red. Huge panicles of rich pink flowers are a joy during summer. On mature specimens the bark peels to reveal a polished reddish brown trunk. Happy in any sunny spot ‘Sioux’ is drought tolerant and frost hardy when once established. It will make a narrow growing large shrub or small tree some 3 metres tall by 3 metres across.
