Hosta ‘Great Expectations’
‘Great Expectations’ is a marvelous cultivar, featuring a mound of large, variegated, oval leaves with creamy white centers and wide, irregular, blue-green margins. Leaf centers are gold when they emerge in spring, then age to a creamy white. Racemes of bell-shaped, near-white flowers appear in summer, rising elegantly above the foliage. Hostas prefer to grow in light to medium shade and can be grown in the garden, but do better when grown in pots, which is how we grow them at Lambley.
