One of the toughest of all the Epimediums making an evergreen plant for shade, even quite dry shade. Its many stems carry aquilegia like bright yellow flowers. It is good practice to cut old foliage to the ground in July or August so that the flowers are best displayed and anyway the old foliage begins to look tatty by mid-winter. Height 30cm  width 40cm eventually. Frohnleiten is a town in the district of Graz-Umgebung in the Austrian state of Styria.
