This was a popular plant during the middle part of the last century. It is both tough and handsome, in a stiff, angular sort of way. The small glossy leaves are a foil for the masses of bright red berries. It grows about 90cm tall by a bit more across and is drought tolerant when established. It is especially handsome when trained against a wall. Happy in sun or light shade. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
