“The bell-like flowers are in loose terminal clusters. Each flower is 2-2.5cm long pale ice blue with intricate internal markings. It is worth peering inside the flowers to appreciate the kaleidoscope-like markings.” North American Rock Garden Society.
This slender, twining herbaceous perennial is best grown in a moist spot under small twiggy shrubs or trained on a stake. It can grow up to 100cm tall but often grows lower. Its exquisite flowers are produced during autumn.
