Cistus ‘Bennett’s White’
‘Bennett’s White’ is the grandest of all the Cistus carrying very large, very sumptuous white flowers on a 180cm tall shrub clothed in narrow glossy green leaves. I first saw and fell in love with Cistus whilst visiting the Bristol University Botanic Gardens more than 40 years ago. My Godson was studying at the university at that time. The plant was around 180cm tall by 140cm wide and covered by white flowers like a large single rose. Breathtaking. ‘Bennett’s White’ is best grown in a sunny well drained spot. It is quite drought hardy when once established but needs a little extra irrigation during long dry spells.
