A lovely summer annual for both the border and the cutting garden, producing branching stems topped with slender, wheat-like plumes in rich shades of red and burgundy. The flowers bring warmth, colour and an interesting texture to summer plantings, and combine beautifully with softer colours in a mixed bouquet. They are also useful for drying.
Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Celosias enjoy warmth and are sensitive to cold, so plant out once the soil has warmed and the risk of frost has passed. Water regularly during dry spells, avoiding waterlogged conditions. Pinch out the growing tips when young to encourage branching and a good crop of flowers.
Height 100–120 cm.
Supplied in 3” pot
