“Buddleja ‘Dartmoor’ is arguably the most unusual B. davidii ever raised. It is instantly recognizable by its unique light purple inflorescences comprising compound branching panicles, 20-30cm long, instead of the typical single terminal spike.” Quote from The National Buddleja Collection.
Huge branching heads of lilac flowers are produced during summer and autumn on quite a large shrub. It is best to cut it back to about 90cm during late winter or early spring. This hard pruning encourages the production of large terminal and good side panicles and a longer flowering period. Best grown in full sun it is tolerant of heat and drought. 4m x 3.5m. Recognised as one of the best Buddlejas by the Royal Horticultural Society giving this plant an Award of Garden Merit in 1993.
