Aster alpinus ‘Pinkie’
This tufted evergreen perennial grows wild in the European Alps and Pyrenees. A rock garden or front of the border plant, it does best in well-nurtured moist soil in sun or light shade where it will make tufted dark green mats topped with large flowers in spring. Height 15cm width 30cm. Aster alpinus has gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden merit. This honour is only given to outstanding garden plants.
