Early maturing cold tolerant with upright leaves on a non-flowering choy sum with glossy mid green leaves and pale green stems. High yielding and very hardy, ‘Karate’ is suited for bunching and grows well under cool conditions as well as warm.
When to sow: August until April
Where to sow: Direct sow into prepared garden bed
Depth to sow: 1/2cm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Direct sow 15 seed per 30cm in rows 40cm apart
Directions: Harvest before flowers open. New shoots will quickly develop.
