Growing wild in the woodlands and meadows of central and eastern Europe and temperate parts of west Asia, the snowdrop windflower makes a carpet of handsome deeply divided dark green leaves. During mid to late spring 30cm tall stems carry exquisite white flowers each with a golden central boss. This gently suckering plant is best grown in moist soil under the shade of shrubs and deciduous trees where it will, if happy, make a delightful ground cover.
