For most summer months Allium flavum produces graceful heads of dangling lemon-yellow flowers on strong, thin, 30cm tall stems arising from upright clumps of glossy, blue-green chive-like leaves. Native to the lands surrounding the Mediterranean, Black, and Caspian Seas, from France to Morocco to Iran and beyond, this charmer is happy in any sunny spot. Whilst reasonably drought hardy it performs better with some extra irrigation during dry periods. 30cm tall when in flower.
