Chaste Tree
The Chaste Tree is one of the most spectacular of all large, drought tolerant, summer flowering shrubs. Large mauve-blue spikes of salvia like flowers are freely produced for months during summer. Whilst it can grow 3 metres tall but as it flowers on new wood it can be kept down to 180cm by a hard prune during winter. Best grown in full sun it is a most drought plant and will make 160-300cm tall by 1.5-2.5cm wide.
