Radicchio ‘Giorgione’ F1 (Cichorium intybus)
Wonderful improved Castelfranco speckled radicchio for mid-spring, summer, autumn and winter harvest. Attractive internal speckling is enhanced in the cooler weather. Reliable and slow to bolt.
When to sow: Late winter - early autumn
Where to sow: Seed trays
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 30cm Between rows: 30cm
Directions: As the seed is fine I plant a dozen or so seeds in a seed tray every three or four weeks. I space the seed out in the tray giving each a space of 1cm square and transplant the seedlings into their final position four or five weeks later.
