Philadelphus lewisii
Lewis’ Mock Orange
This graceful shrub grows wild from northern California through the Pacific north west to southern parts of British Columbia. It is quite adaptable in cultivation being fairly drought tolerant although growing best with a little extra irrigation during dry periods. During late spring its branches are covered with intensely fragrant large white flowers. Happy in any sunny or lightly shaded spot where it will grow 3 metres tall by as much across.
