Lettuce, Salanova® Knox™ ‘Chalmers’ (Lactuca sativa)
The 'Knox' characteristic identified by Rijk Zwaan prevents browning in lettuce. Chalmers RZ is one of the first green butterhead types to include the natural Knox™ trait which greatly delays browning of cut edges. The lettuce can be returned to the fridge and used for successive salads over several days. Chalmers RZ produces tender leaves with a mild flavour. Sow seed from August until May for year round salads.
