Lettuce, Green Oakleaf 'Kireve' (Lactuca sativa)
This has a large frame and attractive narrow leaves, perfect for a modern salad. Able to be grown most of the year in most regions, it is a reliable option for the home gardener or market gardener alike.

Where to sow: Seed trays or direct
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants 20cm; Between rows 30cm
Directions: The seed is pelleted and primed for ease of planting and quick germination. Plant one seed 1/2cm deep every 20cm. Or plant 1 seed to a 5cm pot or 2cm apart in seed trays and plant out when big enough.
