Hollyhock ‘Chater’s Yellow’ (Alcea rosea)

Spectacular Hollyhocks on 250cm tall stems. Plant seed in individual pots during February and March and plant out into the garden when ready. The larger the seedlings grow before winter the more magnificent the flowering will be the following spring and summer.

 

When to sow: Late summer or early autumn
Where to sow: In pots
Depth to sow: 6 - 8mm
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 40-50cm
