Gladiolus ‘Autumn Red’

Gladiolus ‘Autumn Red’

This beautiful autumn flowered Gladiolus has been growing in old Central Highland’s gardens since the 19th century. One of the parents of this gorgeous plant is the late autumn and winter flowering frost tender Gladiolus natalensis. ‘Autumn Red’ however is soundly frost hardy. It produces 120cm tall spikes carrying a score or more blood red flowers with lemon pollinator guides. In the twenty or so years it has been growing here at Lambley there has been no sign of that bane of the Gladiolus tribe, thrip. Easily grown, drought tolerant, disease and pest free ‘Autumn Red’ is one of the joys.

We apologise that this plant is currently sold out.
