California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) ‘Copper Swirl’

A terrific new double to semi-double variety carry masses of copper-orange flowers for much of spring and summer. Sow seeds from autumn to spring on the surface of a raked spot in the garden and water in.
 

When to sow: Spring
Where to sow: Direct sow
Depth to sow: 3 to 5mm or sprinkle on the soil surface
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add   lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Thin as required
   

 

Directions:  An easily grown annual best planted by thinly sprinkling the seed in the garden during spring. It will germinate grow and produce its flowers in 6 to 8 weeks. This poppy is happy in any sunny position, even parts of the garden with poor soil. It is both heat and drought tolerant. Once established it will self sow each year.
