Buddleja madagascariensis x asiatica ‘Wattlebird’
This Australian raised hybrid combines the best of both parents, the weeping fragrant flowers of B. asiatica and the glorious grey foliage and yellow flowers of B. madagascariensis. It mostly flowers during late winter and spring here at Lambley but sometimes, like this year, it will start flowering in early winter. The flower panicles are frosty white in bud and open to soft lemon yellow. This evergreen will grow 2 to 3 metres tall and 2 metres wide. Cut back to half way after flowering. Happy in any sunny or lightly shaded spot.
