Broccoli ‘Belstar’ F1 (Brassica oleracea)

Belstar is a terrific new variety of Broccoli for sowing during late winter, spring, summer and early autumn for a crop of delicious broccoli just about the whole year round

When to sow: Late winter to autumn
Where to sow: For early planting use trays in a warm   indoor position or in drills in a prepared   bed for later sowings (see below)
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add   lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing:  Between plants  35 to 40cm
Between rows 60cm

 

Directions: Sow broccoli seed in two ways. For early sowings plant in seed trays on bottom heat from mid-August until early November. Later sowings can be planted in a 5mm deep drill in outside seed beds and then transplanted six weeks later into the final position.
