Salvia ‘Cardinal Purple’

Salvia ‘Cardinal Purple’

Cardinal Sage

Salvia 'Cardinal Purple' is a plant that was found on an Australian median strip in 2015 and was named for the colour of a cardinal's cloak. It has gone on to be one of our most popular shrubby sages. It is a microphylla type, rather than a greggii type - it has microphylla leaves, not greggii leaves, but its exact parentage remains unknown. Rich cardinal-purple flowers are carried, from spring until winter and beyond in mild climates, on a shrubby plant some 60cm tall by 90cm across. ‘Cardinal Purple’ is happy in any sunny spot and doesn’t require much extra summer watering.

We apologise that this plant is currently sold out.
