Cotoneaster microphyllus
Small Leaved Cotoneaster
In 1827 John Lindley wrote that Cotoneaster microphyllus is “... a beautiful little evergreen shrub, clothed with deep-green shiny foliage, which no winter will impair and when in blossom strewed with snowy-white flowers, which reposing on a rich couch of green, have so brilliant an appearance, that a poet would compare them to diamonds lying on a bed of emeralds.” Crimson berries follow the flowers in autumn. 100cm x 100cm across. Sunny or lightly shaded spot.
