This charming, diminutive Japanese plant carries, during spring and early summer, exquisite claret and lemon flowers on 20cm tall stems over a neat mound of glaucous fern like foliage. Happy in any sunny or lightly shaded position where it will make foliage clumps 20cm across. A great plant for the rock garden and a beautiful flowering pot plant. Aquilegia buergariana was named for Heinrich Burger a German scientist who collected many botanical and zoological specimens in Japan during the early 1830s.
