A beautiful plant for a shady spot, Tellima grandiflora is native to the northern parts of western USA. It forms evergreen mounds of heart shaped leaves which in this newly released form have a silver overlay. 35-40cm tall stems carry chartreuse bells with a pinkish red fringe. I first grew this species from seed my father sent to me from England 45 years ago and have had a soft spot for it ever since… It’s happy in any shady position, even quite dry when once established. Foliage mound makes 25cm tall by 35cm across.
