Native to Brazil and Argentina this tough plant is both frost and drought hardy and keeps flowering even on the most torrid summer days. In good conditions it will grow 60cm tall by 50cm across but will be smaller in harsher conditions. A tough trouble free Verbena species affected neither by mildew nor blistering heat. In our dry climate garden it comes into its own during summer and autumn as its dark violet-purple flower heads make an intense display.
